Today fuoricatalogo project, strongly desired and built with great passion and sacrifice over the last three years, is effectively taking shape, the natural outcome of a life spent in the world of art, antiques and design, deeply convinced of the importance of art, in its varied forms, as a cultural tool for the growth of societies.
A day full of emotions shared with our ancient village, which is also at the center of attention because it is part of our project.
Together we will experience this new artistic and cultural space where we can discuss, share or compare opinions, admire beauty, grow together as a local and global community.
The works presented at the opening are important, including an interesting unpublished work by the great Maestro Giacomo Balla, a suggestive work from the early twentieth century by the Neapolitan Vincenzo Irolli; a superb still life by Alfredo Bovio Di Giovanni, an artist highly appreciated especially in the United States; a tormented storm painted by the Lombard painter Pompeo Mariani, a luminous masterly nineteenth-century work by the English painter Edward Downdell which portrays Rita Michetti. Again: currently being studied and attributed to the great Mario Sironi, we present a refined oil from the 1950s. Other works by artists Gaetano Memmo, Vacre Verrocchio, Salvatore Fiume, Franz Borghese, Domenico Cantatore, Arturo Tosi.
The presentation of Outsider Art works is interesting, such as a twentieth-century sculptural triptych attributable to Art Brut, flanked by two works by Annunziata Scipione, an important naïve artist, indicated by the main critics and art historians as the artistic heir of the great Antonio Ligabue.
Also highlighted is a refined photographic work by our friend Mauro Vitale, also in this case perfectly capable of dressing his artistic proposal with a sensitive social meaning and an original sculptural project created by the Master of Art Luigia Bressan, an important artist and fundamental figure in the art of papier-mâché.
We then present an almost life-size bronze bust of the Teramo artist Pasquale Morganti and a large terracotta amphora in Art Deco style, of museum importance, presented at an exhibition in the mid-twentieth century by the multifaceted artist Giancamillo Rossi, painted with small unique dated and signed works, in the first half of the fifties, by important artists such as Virgilio Guidi, Michele Cascella, Gaetano Memmo and many others.
The room that houses the gallery – furnished with icons of international design present in the major contemporary art museums – has undergone a total restoration of a conservative nature, respecting the architecture, style and history, with the primary intention of obtain a refined and welcoming environment where you can admire and discuss art in total tranquility and safety.
