Frames (June 28, 2025)
As part of the exhibition The Alternative Communication (June 28 – September 28, 2025), and thanks to the technical collaboration of our friend Andrea Morelli, we present Frames—the story of a discovery, captured in video format.
The project originates from 45 photographic slides left to the passage of time. They depict fragments of artworks, bringing to light unsettling details and close-ups of human and animal figures. These celluloid images inspired the creation of a video designed to convey life’s inherent anxiety—an anxiety fueled by the frantic pace at which we are forced to live. This relentless speed, in turn, fosters a pervasive superficiality that has become the defining stereotype of modern man.
We do everything quickly—far too quickly. Even when we pause, convinced we are carving out a moment for ourselves, we are actually still running, chasing after life itself. Communication has become the tool used to mass-produce this cultural model, which is precisely why we chose this specific way of presenting the work. Frames aims to serve as a multimedia canvas to be painted with personal impressions, allowing the viewer to decipher the bigger picture through individual details. It is intended as a cultural catalyst applied to daily life—a synthesis of study, research, and analysis of everything happening around us. The work achieves its full, ultimate realization in the quiet of the night, offering a serene counterweight to the unsettling nature of the images.
