Pair of Ethiopian carved wooden chairs with leather seats and cushions. Mid‑20th century. Seat height: 33 cm (12.99 in); total height: 73 cm (28.74 in). Refined design.

These “ceremonial chairs” were used on important occasions where social hierarchy and displays of authority were essential, as well as during ritual moments connected to the life cycle, such as childbirth.
