Pair of 1950s armchairs
Pair of brutalist‑style armchairs, attributable to the Vittorio Valabrega workshop in Turin, 1950s, likely based on a design by Giacomo Balla. Wood, leather, and brass studs. 95 cm (37.4 in) w x 45 cm (17.72 in) seat height x 80 cm (31.5 in) h.
The Valabrega workshop, founded in 1884, produced high‑quality eclectic and Art Nouveau furniture. Under Vittorio Valabrega (1861–1952), the firm expanded significantly, earning major awards: Silver Medal, Turin 1898; Gold Medal, Paris 1900; Grand Jury Prize, Milan 1906; Gold Medal, Turin 1911.
