Carla Trivellone
Carla Trivellone’s works have the ability to eliminate conventions, in a historical moment in which, paradoxically, the cultural development of societies does not result in the need to free themselves from meticulous rules but, on the contrary, new ones are always proposed, with the the intent to impose generalized adherence to a model compliant with precise expectations. The artist gives us new forms that the imposed cultural homologation makes us define as imperfect but which instead raise deformation, irregularity, asymmetry to perfection, ideally recalling the need for intercultural comparison, the acceptance as a philosophy of this new millennium, the release from conventions, the possibility of sharing rules of coexistence based on diversity as an added value, as an evolutionary tool. Carla Trivellone, with her perfectly imperfect shapes and her colors created by her hands and shaped by fire, offers elegant snapshots of an ideal world, a varied stage of the human species, of its evolution, of our future.
My name is Carla, I am an Italian artist born in Abruzzo, in Pescara, a city by the sea.
My art is realized in the field of ceramics:
I THINK THAT EVERY ARTIST SHOULD LIVE ART FREELY, LISTEN TO HIS EMOTIONS.
I graduated in accounting and after my studies I started working but numbers, desk, four walls were not for me, so I dedicated myself to one of my great passions, becoming a professional photographer in a short time.
After 30 years of activity, clay came into my life: I started attending a ceramics workshop; it was easy for me to work with clay so I decided to buy a ceramic oven.
Today I have my own laboratory where I do a lot of experimentation in the field of ceramics. My research is constantly evolving; every step is essential, from collecting the soil to firing, to return and give the essence and presence of the form to the observer.
Ceramics for me is not just an artistic experience but communication;
it is an ancient ritual,
a visceral dialogue,
a natural tactile expressiveness;
what is not there becomes;
the earth is the material of my work.
Earth, water, and fire:
thanks to these three elements, I can give life to forms that are sometimes imperfect, because I think that in the beauty of irregularity there is space for meditation, FOR THE EXALTATION OF MEDITATIVE QUALITIES.
My works speak, they are material narrations, multiple inspirations, multimedia visions that integrate into the material language used.
PASSION OVERCOMES EVERY BARRIER.
THE APPROACH IS SIMPLE: THE HANDS KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO.
A visceral dialogue, an archaic rite, a natural tactile expressiveness that refers to the testimonies of the Paleolithic.
The peculiarities of my art, art created thanks to a vision outside the algorithms, can be summarized in a few elements: gestuality, instinct, and matter. What is not there becomes, occupies defined space.
I am present with my sculptures at international art exhibitions and competitions; I participate with passion in events, shaping clay live.
My artistic paths are many: I will list some of them from the last three years.
